About Damari: Luz Damari is indigenous from the Embera Katío community. Her mother works as a domestic worker. Luz has been out of school due to the lack of schooling in the indigenous community.

The mother requested placement in our Hogar because she left the community again a few months ago. She normally works as a maid in family homes and has no other relatives who can help her with the care of Luz Damari and her other two little sisters.

Luz Damari will begin her studies in the fourth grade of primary school. They say that in the community there is a risk of being kidnapped by illegal armed groups and they do not have the support of their father.

Home Duties & Privileges: Luz Damari is part of the first stage of adaptation in which she works on: the educational proposal of the institution, the values of obedience and respect, as well as the keeping her things organized, assumes cleaning tasks of some spaces, makes her bed, washes her clothing, receives personalized accompaniment upon arrival at the Hogar to strengthen the process of reading and writing and participates in other educational projects. She goes out every two weeks to spend time with her mother and her two little sisters who are also in the Hogar.

Hobbies & Sports: Her favorite color is black, her favorite food is pasta, she likes soccer. What she likes the most at Hogar is walking in the green areas, the soccer field and the food.

What does Damari want to be when she grows up? When she grows up she would like to be a secretary.
